Unable to remove and re-add same card on Apple Pay

After transferring my data to a new iPhone, my Apple wallet is rejecting my Visa card which has already been added to my account. It flagged it as invalid. When I try to add it as a new card, it says it already exists. When I try to remove it, it won’t allow me to because I have to have a card connected to my account. I called Apple, and there has been no solution so far.

If you have active subscriptions, a payment method must be on file, or the subscriptions canceled (they can always be restarted (you would have to re-subscribe at current rates).

Have you looked in Previous Cards in your Apple Wallet and tried adding the previous card? If not, please follow this path,

iPhone > Apple Wallet app > tap Plus + symbol (upper right corner of screen) > Available Cards > Previous Cards > you will need to be patient, it may take a minute or more for the card data to populate.

The order of payment for Apple ID Account are set by the user and can be changed, except for Apple Account balances and Apple Gift Cards.

Yes, I was hoping to avoid that. I assume you add the second card and then delete the original card? My only concern is making my original card the default payment again.

Solved! On the phone again with Apple Support. The tech was great. I just had to delete and re add the card in my wallet. Originally I was trying to do it from my settings / payment method. They are separate from one another, so I was able to delete the card in the wallet. It needed to be verified through my bank again.
