What is ideal battery health for iPhone 15 after 6 months of usage?

I have been using an Iphone 15 for almost 6 months now and my battery health is at 97%. Is that normal? What can I do so it decreases slower?

I've got a 15 PM and I'm at 99% after over a year of use. But I'm very careful about charging. I only use a 10W brick, only charge to 80%, and rarely ever let it go under 30%. Basically, I charge it once, about every day and a half, and consequently have a very low charge cycle count.

After 7 months of usage ive dropped to 98% and i use my phone heavily. The thing is i avoid using the phone when its under 20% and ive set it to only charge to 80%. If your phone is in that range it puts stress on the battery. I also only charge it when its at 20%

You're actually ahead of the curve, your battery is doing great.

Batteries degrade over time with usage due to chemical aging, that's just how they work.

You can expect about a 1% drop per month with average use on an iPhone. This is an approximation, that is why it may be plus or minus a few percent on a month to month basis.

Apple recommends replacing it when it reaches 80%. To check your battery health, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health.

Batteries of iPhone 14 models and earlier are designed to retain 80% of their original capacity at 500 complete charge cycles under ideal conditions. Batteries of iPhone 15 models are designed to retain 80% of their original capacity at 1000 complete charge cycles under ideal conditions. Actual battery performance depends on a number of variables, including how iPhone is used and charged regularly.

The one‑year warranty includes service coverage for a defective battery, in addition to rights provided under local consumer laws. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery service. Prices and terms may vary.

I have the same issue. From 96% down to 88 in just one month lol

I’ve seen that happen with malfunctioning batteries, with malfunctioning charger circuitry, and batteries subject to too much heat.

If the problem isn’t an obvious one, when it reaches 80% or below, get it looked at.

Magical indeed. I hope it continues for you!

Batteries, like people are individuals. No two people age exactly the same and batteries don’t age the same either. The exact usage, chemical makeup, storage conditions, exposure to heat and cold and about a dozen other factors mean that every battery ages differently. Battery aging is not a linear (straight line) and degrades at different rates as the chemicals in the battery age and the other factors mentioned above. Apple expects your battery health to be at 80% after 24 months. If your battery health misses that expectation, contact Apple Support.

As per the discussion, I might have a magical iphone 15 because I’m using it since four and a half month(exact 136 days) and done 157 cycle count while sometimes I was using it with charging on also and still my battery health is 100%.

This tells you that your battery was really at about 104% when the phone was new, but the Battery Health would still be displayed at 100%. Lucky you.

Soon, your battery will start to behave normally and decline around 1% for every 50 charge cycles. So, at 300 cycles, the battery will likely be at about 96-97%. Still, that's impressive.
