Being charged .99 for an iCloud account I can’t access anymore

I gave an old iPad to my mother, but I continued to pay for her iCloud account with my debit card. When my mother passed away in 2021 I was unable to find the iPad so I could close out everything properly. I’ve called my bank to try and block that particular charge, but they credited my account and said I should speak with Apple. Apple suggested I cancel my debit card and get a new card to stop the charges. Once I received the new card I went thru the process of adding it back to Apple Pay and the charges continue to come off the new card. I’ve now completely removed that debit card from my Wallet/Apple Pay. Will this stop the charges are will it try to use one of my other cards tied to my Wallet/Apple Pay?
