An i2c bus panic would seem to indicate a hardware failure. It is plausible Ventura does not use that hardware feature, but that would be at best a work-around. If your Macbook Air is still under warranty I would take it to an Apple Store for diagnostics/repairs.

Other thoughts:

  1. Try rebooting into Safe Mode. If safe mode works you may have an software incompatible with Sonoma. Use macOS Recovery on a Mac with Apple silicon - Apple Support
  2. Try running Apple Diagnostics. Use Apple Diagnostics to test your Mac - Apple Support
