Apple Maps “cannot connect to server”

I dropped a pin in Apple maps and saved it as favorite. When trying to find the direction maps shows the driving time.

Nevertheless, when starting the route I’m getting the following message.:

”A route can’t be shown because a problem connecting to the server”

Does anybody know which server Apple is referring to and why I cannot connect as I have no problem connecting to various other servers?
