Apple Podcast App on iOS: continuous play re-enables itself re-asked.

This question was asked a couple years ago but received no replies. I am re-asking it slightly rephrased.

In the iOS settings Podcast App section there is an option to enable and disable the continuous playback.

I disabled it on my iPhone but for some reason it re-enables itself after a while. I have to re-disable the option repeatedly. If I disable the continuous playback is gets disabled and the app stops after finishing one episode. But then at a different point I might fall asleep with a podcast on and the next morning … it’s still playing … and the setting is re-enabled.

Any help from Apple on a bug fix would be appreciated.

iPhone SE, iOS 17
