Apple Music not consolidating tracks when selecting "Album is a compilation"

This issue has been happening for a while now.

On a number of albums that are compilations, the tracks are split in to singles, with duplicate instances of the same album and cover art. When I multiple select any number of tracks, and then tick the "Album is a compilation of songs by Various Artists", nothing happens. The information in each track remains unchanged.

If I do each track INDIVIDUALLY (by checking that tick box), it works... but that is ridiculously laborious, and it used to work the previous fast method, but now doesn't.

Any ideas or suggestions? Anyone else have this same problem?

I have highlighted all the tracks I want to consolidate (which should have been that way to begin with, as you can see by the cover art and title of the album)....

And then check the box... But after hitting Enter, nothing happens. That tick / check box just returns to an empty box.

Same if I try to change any other information for multiple tracks, such as number of discs, or even trying to put "Various Artists" in manually, as the album artist.
