vst help with Mac and logic pro

Hi, I can't seem to figure out how to open downloaded vst/au plug ins on Mac and access in Logic Pro. Can anyone help?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.4

The AU-plugins have to be installed or moved here:

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/

VST-plugins doesn't work with Logic, but they can be used with other software:

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3

/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST

Don't forget to restart Logic after installation. Sometimes you have to restart your computer.

What YoyoBen says. But also most reputable plug-in companies have some kind of plug-in management app that will install the plug-in and any supported items for Logic. Such as Native Access for NI, Waves Central, etc.

If you are installing unverified plug-ins you are asking for a lot of headaches
