White noise via external HDMI port is still an issue for Macbook Pro M1 in 2024

I saw this issue in forums many times, but I am wondering if Apple is going to ever address this.

in brief: when plugging in an HDMI cable with external monitor connected, white noise is shown instead of the actual desktop. The problem goes away after re-plugging or changing ports via monitor OSD and back to the HDMI port in question.

The problem is persistent — ALMOST every time I plug in HDMI cable with the monitor on, white noise appears. It's ridiculous that a 2000 euro machine has this issue.

I am running Macbook Pro M1 Pro / Sonoma 14.4.1 with AOC Q27G3XMN monitor.  Surely, this doesn't happen with a Windows machine I have.

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.4
