How to remove flash drive from the computer

locate the flash drive in the finder sidebar in the locations section, then click the ⏏︎ button to the right of the drive's name before physically disconnecting it.



and if you don't see the drive in the locations, first hover over locations and ensure the carrot is pointing downwards.



if it is still absent from locations, you can use Finder Settings > Sidebar and put a checkmark in "External disks".



alternatively, you can use Finder Settings > General and put a checkmark in "External disks" for the drive to show up on your desktop. then just drag the drive to the trash to eject it before physically disconnecting it.
