Cannot return to macOS from boot camp. It loops entry screen to macOS.

It asks me to reboot repeatedly.

MacBook Pro2020,mojave

I've been going back and forth to Windows in boot camp for the past few days.

Then all of a sudden I couldn't get back to macOS.

The bootcamp system shows macOS and the system selection screen on reboot also shows macOS.

However, when I select macOS, it does not boot, although it asks for a password to unlock the encryption.

I enter the password, it automatically reboots, and then returns to the same password entry screen!

I run First Aid in save mode, no change.

Windows continues to run normally.

I've already rebooted 10 times and I'm worried about the strain on the system.

Is the only way now to erase all data and initialize the OS?

The image below shows the password input screen that appears each time I reboot. I am sick and tired of seeing it. Even if I enter it correctly here, it comes back to this screen after rebooting.

What should we do?

Try using another keyboard just in case your keyboard is mistyping a character.

Try entering the Filevault Recovery Key instead if you have it. I have seen the T2 security chip get confused & corrupted so that it may not be authenticating against the correct admin user account.

Try booting into Internet Recovery Mode using Command + Option + R. If you can make it into recovery mode, then launch Disk Utility to see if you can mount the internal macOS "Data" volume. If you can access recovery mode, then let us know & whether the "Data" volume is or can be mounted.

If all else fails, then you can try a DFU firmware Revive to reset the T2 security chip & system firmware. This is not supposed to affect the data on the internal SSD, but if there is a hardware issue with the computer, then all bets are off.

Unfortunately if you cannot authenticate, then you won't be able to access the data within the macOS "Data" volume. I hope you have good backups.
