Apple TV app not connecting to wifi

I have an apple tv. All downloaded apps, HULU, MAX, etc, work and connect to the wifi. When I try to open the apple tv app, it says there is a connection issue and cannot connect to wifi. I am having the same issue on my macpro and on my iphone. Again, wifi/internet works. All other apps connect to wifi. Is this an apple issue??
