Changing the decimal seperator in Excell for MacBook Air macOS Sonoma

I know how to change between comma and dot as a decimal separator in Excell for Windows, but cannot seem to find the option where to change the decimal separator in Excell on macOS Sonoma. Has anybody else had this issue?

Or is this functionality set up when creating a new spreadsheet?

I have already changed the number format in my Macbook's settings and this does not seem to fix the issue.

In the version I have, it is in Excel->Preferences->Edit

According to the Internet, that's pretty much the same place as with Windows (which is why I looked there).

The options are "use system separators" (the default) or you can pick your own. It surprises me that you said you changed it in System Preferences but it did not affect Excel. Maybe they were previously changed in Excel so it is not following the system settings.
