i have a joint bank account with my wife. The credit card associated with this account is under her name but we both use it, but i can't add it to apple pay because the card is not under my name. Is there a way to solve this ?
OK, thanks for the information. This sounds like a bank issue. The verification process is done by the bank and/or the Payment Network (Visa, MasterCard etc.). Some banks use account name (along with other factors) as fraud detection when they decide to verify a card and add it to the Wallet app.
Your best path forward is to discuss the matter with the bank. Most major banks do not use names as a determining factor when deciding risk factors.

Credit cards typically are not associated with a bank account. Debit cards are often associated with a bank account. Debit cards usually have the word debit or Cash printed on them. Please see photo below.
yes sorry i was talking about debit card not a credit card. The problem i face here is that the name written on the debit card is my wife's name and not mine, and is the reason apple pay won't let me add it to my wallet, even though the card is linked to a account i hold jointly with my wife.

Yes my mife and i have separate apple ID, and she was able to verify the card via the bank app and add it to her apple wallet.
Here is the screenshot of the failure of verification on the bank app. Sorry it's in french, it says : We did'nt find any card to your name in the wallet app. To be able to add a card you must be the owner."

Yes, Apple has no access to your banking information and therefore has no role in the verification of your account.
