I have a 2017 Macbook Air - wondering if I should wipe it and start over.

2017 - 1.8 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5; 8GB 1600 DDR3 RAM

running macOS Monterey.

Just got it back from my daughter who had borrowed it. I am thinking it might make sense to wipe it and start fresh but would love input. We have a newer Macbook Air but this one would be great to have to keep using for email and internet browsing.

If it's a good idea then would someone be able to direct me to how to do it please? I found articles but they were from 2013 so I don't know if things have changed since then.

Thank you so much for any help you can give!

I always recommend users restore the computer to factory settings when switching dedicated users. You want the computer registered as yours with Apple. See the article below for instructions.
