Preview interfering with Android file transfer

I can confirm that in Sonoma, when Apple Preview is running, Android file transfer does not work.

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 14.3

Samsung phone model A22 is affected. Oppo phone model A9 seems to be less affected. Please see this thread: android file transfer not working on Vent… - Apple Community
