How can I tell if my iPhone was compromised?

I received a pop up message saying that my iphone is hacked and I press the close button on the pop up immediately because I was panicked. Does pressing the close on the pop up message will cause my iphone to get hack? And I was on private browser while I got the pop up and it wasn’t in the history so it’ll be fine right?

Yep you are fine. The farther you venture into the gray areas of the internet, the more you will see these kind of pop ups that attempt to scare you into installing software or provide a phone number for you to call so they can get personal/financial information from you. Just ignore and move on with your day.
