How to sync multiple Apple devices?

I have an iMac (Sonoma) at home and am looking to replace my Chromebook (finally, tg) used at work, with an MacBook Pro. I do not understand how the devices work in sync in this situation. Would anyone please expound on this subject? I am thinking that I do not need the more powerful MacBook available.

The MacBook Pro is the more powerful MacBook.

Did you perhaps mean the MacBook Air?

In any case, if you setup iCloud, the Macs will sync email, contacts, notes, files stored in iCloud Drive and Photos in the Photos App if you turn on iCloud Photos.

Beyond that, you would need to clarify what exactly you want to sync between them, what are you looking to accomplish?
