Low on Storage - iPhone Pro Max 13 - Can't figure out how to free up space!

I've made sure I'm using iCloud for photos and messages. I have used 124GB of 200GB in iCloud. When I look at my iPhone Messages, it says I'm using 74.15GB (see photo) but my top conversation is only 144mb... I've deleted high volume threads but it doesn't seem to free up my overall storage. What am I missing?

Storage Space Issues Every iPhone I’ve ever had I always had to get rid of and upgrade because of storage space issues…I wish apple would make it easier to get rid of things that take up too much space like messages,photos,gifs, location etc….it is really frustrating when I have to go through each photo or gif to remove them one by one to create more space in my phone.Some things don’t need to be backed up and there should be an option to Select all for a easy clean up. -A Loyal Customer

Storage issues with messages/cloud Hi, I recently upgraded to an iPhone14 and chose the 128GB of storage. I’ve had it less than a month and I get notifications that my storage is full almost daily. I delete some of those messages, but it isn’t really helping. I have around 70 GB of messages stored in my phone but my cloud is barely 1/4 full. Is there a trick to get those messages to be on the cloud? Based on what I’ve read, my phone is synced up properly. Thanks in advance for the help, Jamie
