Battery life not as good as expected on MacBook Air M1

I have recently bought a MacBook Air M1, and while using it, I am getting a battery life of only 8 hours. I was expecting much better battery life from a brand-new laptop. In the reviews, I saw people mentioning 12–14-hour battery life. I am only using it for browsing, writing blogs, and watching videos. All the light stuff. So why am I getting only 8 hours of battery life?

Is everyone getting the same battery backup? or is it due to upgrading to Sonoma OS, and I may need to downgrade to get better battery life? I need some advice.

The M1 MacBook Air was First introduced: 2020

We are now April 2024 so right way the battery has been unused and sitting somewhere for about 3 - 4 Years

Batteries require exercise otherwise that can go flat

Meaning, they may not perform to their Original Expectation of 2020

If you go into System Information located in System Setting >> Utilities

On left Sidebar find the Battery Category

On the right is should show the Battery Health - Normal as it should also show the number of Full Battery Cycles

Exactly how many Full Battery Cycles is it showing ?

Use say Brand New
