Why is my iPhone storage full despite upgrading iCloud?

So I upgraded my ICloud storage. Moved everything on the phone to there. Why is my phone still saying my storage is full when it’s all in the cloud? I mean it’s not even showing in my photo gallery anymore but yet still saying photos have 56G being used.

I would like you to realize and know one important thing and that is that there is NOTHING that you can do to increase the physical storage capacity of your iPhone. Your iPhone's storage capacity will forever remain the same as the day you bought it.

You have purchased ➔ iCloud Storage from Apple where you create and save your iPhone backups and synch (Not Store) your Messages, Photos, Contacts, Calendars, Notes and Reminders. Note that iCloud Storage is NOT an extension of storage capacity of your iPhone. Just wanted you to know some facts.

Having said that, you can choose to Optimize Storage on your iPhone for all the Photos. What this action will do is store your original quality photos on iCloud and a small size photo on your iPhone. This takes up less space on your iPhone while maintaining the actual size on iCloud. This will free up space on your iPhone while making good use of iCloud. If you would like to try this then open Settings ➔ Photos ➔ Optimize iPhone Storage : Ensure that this option is chosen and has a checkmark on it.

Is the phone you're currently using the same Apple ID as iCloud? And if the phone and iCloud account are on the same Apple ID, when did you remove the photos from your phone? If within the last 30 days, they haven't been fully deleted yet, unless you opened the recently deleted folder and permanently deleted them there. And if they haven't been deleted from the recently deleted folder, they're really not deleted from your phone. But when they are fully deleted, guess what? They'll delete in iCloud. Because as I mentioned, iCloud is a syncing service, whether you want to believe me or not.

Okay I get that, but my photos are on the iCloud and not even showing on my phone so why does it still say they are on my phone when they are not.

Also thank you on that I upgraded storage for nothing then.

So do I need to get on the cloud and just delete from there, I do do the optimize option already: I did have 15000 photos it only shows 600 and it says my iPhone storage is full. I have deleted numerous photos but yet it still says it’s full. This is the issue I want to know how to fix.
