Notification stating "The xcrun" command requires the command line developer tools"

Good morning/afternoon,

For about 2 weeks now, a popup (see below) has appeared. I'm hesitant to install it as my research has led me to believe that this command holds a lot of power. I have seen no correlation between me opening an application and the said popup appearing.

I do not use CleanMyMac as others with this problem do.

Any help would be appreciated.

What's in these folders:

/Library/LaunchDaemons

/Library/LaunchAgents

~/Library/LaunchAgents

~/ means your home folder. If your home folder Library is not visible, hold down the Option key and select Library from the Go menu in Finder.

I'm hesitant to install it as my research has led me to believe that this command holds a lot of power.

The tool just locates and optionally runs command line tools.

However, there is no reason to install the command line tools if you don't use them.

You have apparently installed something that runs that command for some reason. It might be in one of the folders I listed. It also could be embedded inside an app, so you may not find anything there.
