How to disable ‘Auto Delete Old Conversations’ on iPhone?

I accidentally enabled the ‘auto delete old conversations’ when I was looking at how to make space in my storage for installing a new iOS. How do I disable it? I have my messages under keep forever, but the check mark is showing beside the auto delete old conversations. Has this happened to anyone else? And how have you fixed it?

There is no way you can get back what is deleted. The option clearly stated "Save up to 9.14 GB - Automatically removes all your messages and attachments that were sent or received over 1 year ago."

However, for your future options, you may set it properly.

Settings > Messages > Keep Messages [Chose your option]
