How can I get rid of the black border that appeared on my iPhone 12 after ios 17.4.1 update?

Immediately after upgrading my iPhone 12 to iOS 17.4.1 the phone screen now has a black border of 2-3mm around the perimeter of the entire screen, essentially shrinking the usable screen size. Previously the usable screen went right to the edge. Restarting didn't help. Zoom is not on. Any idea how to correct? Or just wait til Apple fixes it with a new update?
