hi, is this as straight forward as copy and paste or is there a specific way to transfer data? The samsung magician software doesn't seem to support the T5! any help would be great. James

What are you currently using the T5 for...?
If you are just storing files on the T5, then you should just be able to "drag & drop" those to the T7.
If you are using the T5 for Time Machine backups, then you need to start new backup on the T7.
If you are using the T5 as a startup disk, then install macOS on the T7 and migrate from the T5.
