Use this Support Article to view any Subscriptions and Purchase History. There may have been a purchase that was not paid and that could also explain why it is requiring the payment method to download or update apps. It is important to remember that some apps offer Free Trials that will incur a charge if not cancelled 24 hours before the trial period ends.

If using iOS 17.4 or later, you can do the following:
- Open the App Store app on your iPhone.
- Tap your picture at the top right, then tap Purchase History.
- You may be asked to authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
You can also prevent in-app purchases and free trials by going to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases > In-App Purchases, and change it to Don't Allow.
