Trackpad not working after battery replacement

I bought a battery off of amazon for a 2020 13-inch Macbook pro (intel) and now the trackpad does not work. The keyboard works perfectly fine, along with the backlight, but the trackpad does not click or move.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.3

The trackpad is right on top of the battery. it is not uncommon to have such an issue right after a do-it-yourself repair.

After working inside a device as complicated as MacBook Pro, I often have to repeat the installation procedure at least once more, and sometimes even more times to get it perfect.

This time be very mindful of inserting all cables completely and with perfect orientation, and latching the latches on any connectors that use latches. These fine details are really easy to overlook, and the inside of a MacBook Pro is very "fussy".

You misunderstand. I was not recommending you pay to replace the parts again.

I meant you should perform the same remove-and-replace steps again, using the newest parts. Follow along in the procedure very closely. Or see if you can find a different procedure online. Check and recheck the connections.

You may find it SEEMS like you did nothing differently, but it works after re-installing.

<<. we had a ton of unclear instruction mishaps while installing it. >>

Then doing that procedure (or a similar one) again seems worthwhile.
