MacBook Air M3 Feet are Slippery

I bought the new MacBook Air M3 (15 inch) just over a week ago. Initially, the rubber (or plastic?) feet on the bottom of the keyboard were nice and sticky and provided good grip such that I could open the laptop lid without holding it down in my other hand. I have been extremely careful with my laptop and only placed it on normal desk surfaces, so I do not see how it is already slipping. I am very disappointed because the rest of the hardware (and software) is incredibly impressive. I want to know whether this issue is normal or whether something is at fault with my specific laptop, which I would not expect to be the case as we checked out the laptop before leaving the store.

Are the desktop surfaces cleaned with any material that leave a residue? Even just working on a desktop can leave skin oils and such that can collect on the feet. Plus there are all other sort of stuff that collect on a desktop over time that can attach/accumulate on the feet and may not even be visible.

Also, desktop surfaces are mildly abrasive no mater how smooth they feel to the touch and could eventually make the feet very smooth that they start to slide.

For the contamination issue, the possible solution is just get a cloth or paper towel, dampen it with alcohol, and clean off the feet.
