Hide my email passwords

Hide My Email creates aliases email addresses to keep your personal email safe from spam. It doesn't save your passwords.

• Hide My Email creates aliases: When you use Hide My Email, it generates a random email address that forwards to your main inbox. This protects your personal email from being shared with websites and apps. It is like a secret agent for your email address. When you use it, it creates fake email addresses, called aliases, that forward messages to your real inbox. This keeps your email private and safe from spam.

• Password storage is separate: The password you use for the account itself isn't saved with Hide My Email. It's stored by the app or website you signed up for, following their usual password management practices. But here's the important part: Hide My Email doesn't touch your passwords. When you sign up for a website or app using Hide My Email, it doesn't save your password. Instead, your password stays where you entered it, securely stored by that website or app. So, while Hide My Email guards your email, it lets the websites handle your password security.

And if you want extra help keeping track of your passwords, you can store them securely on iCloud Keychain, Apple's password management tool. This way, you can have peace of mind knowing that your email and passwords are well-protected.

There are two main possibilities:

1. Phone/Password Manager: You might have chosen to save the password during signup on your iPhone or through a password manager app. Check your iPhone's Settings > Passwords or your password manager app to see if the login details are stored there.
2. Website/App Management: The website or app itself might store your password. Try logging in to their account management page directly (not through Hide My Email) to see if there's a "forgot password" option or a way to view your saved credentials.

thank you for your response. But the original questioner, Michael817 asked why the response never reaches the Apple ID email…I have had this issue many times. What is the point of Hide My Email, when I cannot guarantee receipt of responses? This needs to be fixed by Apple asap.. doesn’t help when Private Relay switches on and off at will, as happened to me this morning, see attached screen shots

thank you for your response. But the original questioner, Michael817 asked why the response never reaches the Apple ID email or is delayed by as much an hour or more. I have had this issue many times. What is the point of Hide My Email, when I cannot guarantee receipt of responses? This needs to be fixed by Apple asap.. doesn’t help when Private Relay switches on and off at will, as happened to me this morning, I noted also, that when I logged into Support communities, there was a delay there too - by 8 minutes, rather than responses being a minute ago, as normal
