LG display shows NO SIGNAL when connected with MacBook Air

The combo worked perfectly for years, all of a sudden the LG display shows NO SIGNAL.

  • The LG display still delivers electricity to the MacBook Air.
  • The display even shows USB C in the input list.

In System Settings -> Displays -> Option Key -> Detect Displays no displays (except for the built-in) are found.

I found an old thread from 2022, looks like the issue has not been solved. Any ideas?

Thank you very much!

How is the display connected? With an usb c cable or via a dock? If it is connected via a dock you want to try it via a cable instead

Also, if you're on macOS Sonoma make sure that you update until the latest version, in version 14.4 where some slight problems with docks and displays, so make sure that you're on 14.4.1
