Aprox 5-6 months my Mac has become very slow, takes ages to open any apps, browser, mails or execute any action, to initiate the system takes more than 4-5min to open. I read in here about performing a check with the EtrecheckPro and to upload it in this Portal for a more accurate info expecting someone more knowledgeable than me could advise me about what to do next. Thanks a lot.

1) Uninstall the Symantec Antivirus software as per the developers instructions.
2) Open and run less MS and third-party applications at the same time.
3) Consider replacing that iMac with one that has an SSD.
your Mac still has a mechanical hard drive, is it a fusion drive or a normal hdd? This is the issue of your computer getting slow. A almost 10 year old Mac with a spinning harddrive, that is slow.
However a disk replacement is not supported, you might want to consider upgrading to a ssd to speed up the iMac
Also: Macs won't need antivirus software. All it is doing is make the Mac slow, so uninstall that
