Iphone 5C and Ipad not unused for years and no longer charging

My old Iphone 5C and Ipad 2nd gen has not been used for years. I tried to charge them and there's it's not charging. I can only see a low battery appearance but no signs of charging. What I can I do to charge them and be still able to use them? Thanks

iPad (3rd generation)

As stated above, the batteries are undoubtedly toast. They don’t like being left without a charge for extended periods.

Unfortunately, both of those devices are obsolete. You can’t get the batteries replaced by Apple any more.

Recycle them. Even if you can find someone to replace the batteries, it would cost more than the devices are worth.

Neither one will be able to download much of anything from the App Store and the phone isn’t even usable as a phone in most of the world any more.
