Can I write normally with Apple Pencil

I am so excited, I just got a new Apple Pencil! It is the generation two, and I tried turning off scribble, but it would not let me just use my normal hand writing, which is exactly what I really want. I am a musician, so it trying to type what I’m writing does not work efficiently. How do I get my new Apple Pencil to write in my hand writing, and not typed out?

when I turned it off scribble, my pencil would not write at all… very frustrating!
