Can I develop on Macbook air using ms vsCode and Flutter

I am a Windows user and always have been and often wondered why people use Apple PCs. However, my main issues with Windows are reliability and antivirus software. It's virtually impossible to determine which antivirus software does a good job. Dealing with some of these antivirus software companies is traumatic and wasteful of time to put it mildly. To fully-detail the issues would take too long and achieve little. I have also had issues with corruption of software very recently (and previously). One very-recent issue on a backup pc required re-installation of the OS. Another very-recent issue on the main pc resulted in corruption of key programs that are not part of the official OS, but supplied by MS and impossible to reinstall even though downloadable - which seems ludicrous to me. Lodging a report with MS doesn't appear to get a response. Other issues are possibly third party supplied but show warnings every time the pc is booted. So, reliability and wasted time are the main issues together with dealing with one unscrupulous antivirus supplier and not knowing the veracity of others. That is why I am considering Apple.

I'm developing an app using MS VsCode and Flutter. This doesn't use huge resources. Would a Macbook Air with a non-apple monitor do the job? An i5 and and i7 are more than adequate with Windows. I don't do much printing, and only have an Epson XP-2100. What would I need for printing with an Macbook Air? Buying a new low-cost printer and monitor would not be a big issue.

Do I need third-party antivirus protection with an Apple Macbook Air? From what I have read, it is not needed and can be a problem.

I want a reliable product and I don't want to deal with third-party suppliers particularly of antivirus software.

Note that VSCode is not the same thing as the full Visual Studio IDE. VSCode runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux; while the full Visual Studio IDE seems to be Windows-only.
