Incomplete File Transfers When Dragging Mp3s Out of Desktop Music App
Traditionally with iTunes and the subsequent desktop Music app proper (not Apple Music streaming app), one could easily drag a series of highlighted songs from the application into a folder on the desktop, effectively creating a copy of each mp3 file in the destination folder. Simple and straightforward. For the last 2-3 years, however, I have found that doing so more often than not only copies a portion of the songs dragged. Even a load as small as 2-3 songs will typically ignore a file or two. Suffice to say larger transfers suffer from proportionately larger losses. My work requires very large transfers, numbering in thousands of mp3s at a time, and I've since been forced to literally drag each file into a new folder one at a time. It's an insufferable, unnecessary labor that vastly increases my work time. Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening, and/or how to fix?
I am running a MacBook Air (M1, 2020), version 12.3.1. Any help is appreciated. Thank you for reading.
*Note: I am anticipating folks suggesting I update my OS to the latest version, however new and considerable issues seem to crop up with my Apple Music (formerly iTunes) library without fail whenever updating software, bringing my work to a dead halt, despite my libraries being kept neatly organized and maintained. Not to mention the issue at hand has sustained across multiple updates over the last few years. Therefore I am highly skeptical that such a maneuver will resolve this issue.
