I am unable to get a refund for a subscription that I did not mean to buy

So I accidentally purchased a subscription and I tried to report this problem to Apple by pressing the refund button.

Apple told me “not eligible for a refund”.

Apple makes it very difficult to accidentally make a purchase, since you have to physically double click the side button with the purchase price showing on the screen, followed by authentication with Face ID. If you have not done so, make sure you cancel the subscription. Simply asking for a refund will not cancel it for you.

With just about every purchase in the App Store, all sales are final. You do not get to create your own free trial by using an app/subscription, then requesting a refund later. Some apps offer a free trial, while others do not. It is not possible to "accidentally" make a purchase as this is not done by just accidentally touching a button. You are required to double click the side button with the purchase amount showing on the screen, followed by verification using Face ID/Touch ID or passcode.

You do have a better chance at getting a refund for an app that does not work as advertised, but even in this case there are other considerations that may be accounted for in making that decision that are not published. Since that is a decision made by Apple, there is nothing anyone here can do to provide assistance.

Sorry, but it sounds like they made their decision. In most cases, sales are final in the App Store, although refunds have been granted when an app that was downloaded is not working or if there is another issue with it. Some apps offer a free trial subscription to see if you would like it while others do not. If you could just request a refund for a subscription, it would make every subscription a free trial.

One more question..Do you think talking with my bank would help?

You can try disputing the charge with your bank, but usually those are only successful if a purchase was made due to fraud and I have never heard of a bank refunding money from an accidental purchase. When disputing due to fraud, you will be issued another card and your old card will be cancelled, so if you have any autopay transactions or other subscriptions, you will need to make sure to transfer those to your new card.

Sadly this happened to me I contacted customer service they had me send the screenshots of it via email of it messing up which happened right after I made a purchase for a whole year and denied me still and the app still is messing up because I’ve tried many things to get it working and nothing it is a writing app and sadly it’s a waste of my money for a whole year of nothing.. it was doing so good though that very first time I used it I thought wow this is so cool I’m gonna be dumb and buy this.. 😅
