how to you figure out what folder an app is in? or edit it if it's not on your home screen at all (it's invisible) (iOS 17)

I deleted the app from my screen, but not my device, and now I cannot change that setting. I can't even delete it and redownload bc it's invisible. I'm assuming there's a way, I just can't figure it out.

Have you checked the App Library?

Apps can be removed from the Home Screen without being deleted. Go to the App Library (swipe left past your last Home Screen). From there you can touch and hold an app and slide it to the Home Screen.
