How to fix MacBook Air built-in speaker and quicktime player errors on macOS Monterey

My MacBook Air is behaving very wierd in the last 2 months. I think it is due to automatic software updates that gets pushed.

The mic, speaker and Quicktime player works one day and doesnt work the next day and then it works automatically by itself the day after and so on.

I don't have external speaker, mic or anything. All are in built ones and I don't connect any of them either.

Upon going to Apple Icon -> System Preferences -> Sound -> Output it is empty

Upon going to Apple Icon -> System Preferences -> Sound -> Input it is empty

I don't touch anything here. It disappears on day 1, comes back on day 2, goes away on day 3, comes back on day 4 and so on like a visitor and troubles me.

Hi,

If your MacBook Air has Intel processor, resetting NVRAM could solve audio related issues.

If it doesn't help, try to start up in Safe mode, then normal boot could solve your issue.
