Google Maps shows wrong location on my Mac
I'm working on a Macbook Pro (using Sonoma 14.2.1). For the past couple of months, whenever I am using Goggle Maps in Chrome on my Macbook, it shows me at the wrong location. I live in San Francisco, but Google Maps shows me "located" in Washington DC, just southeast of the US Capital, even though I have not been to DC in many years, and have never been to that particular part of DC.
I've lived in the same building in SF for 10 years. Although this laptop is less than 2 years old, in the past, it always showed the accurate location. Just not the past couple of months.
When I have traveled to other cities, Google Maps sometimes accurately shows me in those other locations (for instance when I was using a hotel WiFi in Raleigh). But soon as I come home to SF, Google Maps reverts back to showing me in DC again.
Interestingly, Google Maps does not do this when I run it in Safari, or in Firefox. Also Google Maps shows me in my correct location on my iPhone. It only gets its it wrong when I'm using Google Maps in Chrome on my Macbook.
I've tried the basic Macbook settings for location -- turned it off, then back on --, as well as the location setting in Chrome. I've tried clearing the cache (multiple times). I've tried restarting the Macbook (multiple times). Nothing I've tried thus far seems to work.
