MacBook stuck in password loop during reboot

I am in the process of deleting all contents and rebooting MacBook. I keep putting in the password to unlock the disk “Macintosh HD” , the computers reboots and shows apple logo and then goes back to that same screen to input pass word for the drive. Help please.

The only different thing that happened is I shut it down and went into recovery mode, but I don’t have a backup. What do I do?

Macbook Pro M2 stuck on the lock screen even after entering the right password! All of a sudden, I was unable to unlock my macbook m2 pro (running Sonoma 14.2.1) I tried all possible methods, like reinstalling MacOS from the startup options menu, and used the first aid on all volumes and containers using the Disk Utility option while in recovery mode. Please help me with other things I can try.

Control + R not working on restart? Hi, Trying to erase disk and reinstall OS. When I restart my MacBook Pro in recovery, I press Control + R and nothing happens, just my normal log in screen asking for the password. If I input it is just starts as normal. Any Ideas?
