What happens if I decline to replace my iPad at apple store

I have apple care plus. I took my iPad in because the power and volume buttons aren’t working. I was told I’d have to pay for a replacement because of teeny tiny minuscule dent that they had to pull out a magnifying glass to see. So I refused to pay the 49 because I don’t think that’s related at all with the buttons not working and the iPad works just fine besides that. Plus I believe I only get two replacements a year and don’t want to waste one on that since it still works. So since I declined a replacement now, can I get a replacement in the future and continue to pay for apple care plus monthly? Or will they cancel my apple care plus? Also if they don’t cancel it what happens if I drop it and the screen breaks? Can I pay to get that replaced? They didn’t mention anything about it at their store.

If you decline to replace your iPad now, you should still be able to get a replacement in the future under your AppleCare+ plan. Your coverage and monthly payments should remain intact. If your iPad experiences another issue or damage in the future, you can still use your AppleCare+ for a replacement or repair, depending on the terms of your plan. If your screen breaks, you should be able to pay for a replacement or repair through AppleCare+. It's always a good idea to clarify any doubts about coverage and terms with Apple directly to ensure you understand your options fully.

AppleCare+ is an insurance product. Any claim made against your AppleCare+ plan will incur a small flat-rate excess/deductible fee - regardless of the degree of damage.

Apple recently lifted the two-claim restriction in any twelve month period of cover. As such, you should have no concern for future eligibility to make a valid claim.

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification.
