How to automatically update an expired card in Apple Pay

A good “guide” to remember is that if nothing displayed in your wallet is incorrect (i.e. data which you can actually see and read) …

… there is nothing for you to update.

Additionally FYI:

Many issuers automatically update your wallet even when replacement cards are issued (i.e. cards with new 16-digit account numbers after you’ve reported the card as lost, stolen, or compromised).

These “re-issued / updated” cards in your wallet are fully functional for ApplePay transactions within minutes of your having reporting the card compromise.

Banks normally automatically update card information when it nears the expiration date.
