Why are my photos are uploading overexposed to instagram?
My photos look normal and I can edit them before posting but then as soon as the photos post they become really overexposed. How can I stop this from happening?
iPhone 15 Plus, iOS 17

Are they photos (i.e. images) or videos?
New smartphones like iPhone 13 Pro can record videos in 10-bit HDR/HLG Dolby Vision. You can turn that off in iOS settings.
That is great but some old devices like my my old iPad Pro 9.7" 2016 displayed such HDR as "washed out". On the other hand my new iPad Air 10,9" 5th Generation 2022 can display it correctly.
You can use 3rd party apps like Handbrake, Shutter Encoder or ffmpeg to convert HDR to SDR. When I still had the old iPad, I used Final Cut Pro to convert HDR to SDR.
I don't use Instagram but some sources say this is an issue with some Instagram app version.
Thanks for your help.
I am posting images and I have an iPhone 15. I’ve noticed this change since the most recent update. Is the update related?
I have turned off HDR Video and that hasn’t made a difference in the overexposure of images being posted.
