Not receiving verification codes

Assuming that you CAN place and receive normal voice calls …

First, make sure that you’re not Filtering SMS texts from “unknown” senders:

Settings -> Messages

Beyond that …

… Contact your carrier and request help w/ “Non-Delivery of SMS Messages”

Again, it’s likely a carrier issue.

Your carrier delivers SMS texts via your “telephone line.”

You’re of course free to reach-out to Apple, but the culprit is still most likely your carrier.

Keep in mind that a Mac requires an accompanying iPhone to do the actual “receiving” of the SMS messages from your carrier.

I have a different problem. The SMS verification codes are not syncing with my Macbook Pro. Probably the wrong forum, and my searches in the apple community do not turn up any results. I had it working for a whole about month back, and then it stopped working again.

These are verification codes sent as texts to your phone number by banks and other web sites for two-factor authentication ???
