Time Machine Questions. (How does it work)
Having owned various Macbook Pro's going back to 2009, I have *never (yes I know) used the Time Machine option.
I'm not a fan of iCloud etc for saving photos etc. I usually just back the Picture folder to an external HD....and a backup of that HaHa.
How does Time Machine work?
I realise I need to buy an external HD at least twice the amount of my Mac HD and format it.
When I turn Time Machine on, and it saves my Mac, is that stored on my Mac until I decide to connect my external HD to it?
Or doesn't it work like that? If it does, isn't going to take up HD space.
My other question is, when Time Machine backs up to an external HD, it saves things like photos etc.
If I then add more photos to my Mac, the next time I save to my external HD, does Time Machine overwrite everything from the first (the original backup) or does it save as a completely different save (not sure how to put that into words). So you end up with different dates you can go back to.
Sorry for so many questions.
