Apple TV on my old TV
I have subscribed to Apple TV. I don't have a smart TV. I use COX cable. I can't get Apple TV to show up in the Apps option on my TV.

I don't have COX cable but the following indicates that you need to have "Contour or Contour Stream Player service."
It also states:
"Note: The Apple TV+ app is not available on the Samsung XG2V2 and the Cisco Explorer 9865HDC Contour boxes, however, all other Contour boxes are compatible."

If you don't have or cannot get the right Cox box, another option would be to add a Roku player https://www.roku.com/products/players
or other streaming player device including Apple TV box Apple TV 4K - Apple
to your TV. Either of those devices connect to your TV (if you have an available HDMI connection on the TV) and use your internet service.
