Red light Apple Watch

I have lupus and the red light from my Apple Watch seems to be triggering a flare on my wrists. Has anyone got any solutions? Is there a way to turn off the red light on the back? Thanks in advance

Here is how the watch monitors your heart rate:

Monitor your heart rate with Apple Watch - Apple Support


You can essentially turn the sensors off by using the low power mode. See the 'Low Power Mode turns off these features' and other sections in:

Use Low Power Mode on your Apple Watch - Apple Support


If you don't like that, another way would be to simply put a piece of black tape on the bottom of your watch.
