Text under ICONS on desktop repeated in a large box when selected with mouse.

Started in Word, text selected would be repeated in a huge box with large font. Exited Word and found the same problem in Desktop. Rebooted my iMac 27" and same problems. I suspect some switch in a menu somewhere controlling the display. Can't find it. Any suggestions??

iMac is making a box (covers the width of the screen) with large font on selected or typed text. Very annoying! I was in a word document and suddenly everything I typed was repeated in a large box with large characters. I left word and found the same thing on my desktop, using MacOS Big Sur 11.7.10. I've tried rebooting, doesn't help. Everything I type or select on screen results is a box covering the width of the screen. Can't find anything on Google. Anyone here see this? How to fix it?? System window text too small on M4 MacBook Pro I am very frustrated with my new M4 MacBook pro. It is very hard to read the incredibly small text on the system windows. I have done the accessibility>displays>increase font size routine but this doesn't effect the windows like the one I have attached here. Is there any way to fix this? BTW it looks large as an attachment here but is something like 6 pt on my screen. Thanks

My iMac zooms and highlights areas I'm using if hit the spacebar. My iMac zooms and highlights areas, when I use the spacebar during typing. When it happens it will not even allow me to put spaces between words. This seems to happen out of the blue. Because I can type for a bit before it occurs. Esc does not make it go away. Instead, it highlights folders I'm not even using. I've checked the shortcuts but can find nothing that uses the space bar. I'm using a iMac 24" M1. I have tried to do a screenshot of the highlighted area and it just goes away until I close the screenshot app.

Check your Accessibility preferences.

System Preferences->Accessibility->Zoom, perhaps?

Can you post a screenshot illustrating the problem?

Click on the Desktop or Finder where you see this happening, type CMD+j, what does it say for icon, grid, & text size?
