Getting ihome mini to announce phone calls and messages.

I can’t get my ihome mini to announce notifications. I have enabled Siri to allow the speaker to announce notifications. I have followed all of the instructions to enable them and I am on the same WiFi and Bluetooth. What’s wrong here?

Since iOS 18, Text notifications stopped showing up on my CarPlay screen Since the update, Notifications has stopped showing text. It announces the messages in CarPlay but does not show the notifications on the screen. This never happened prior to this update. I'm now on iOS 18.1 RC and still the same. Now if I ask Siri to show me the messages, say while I'm listening to Siriusxm, then it does pop up so I can reply. But I never asked Siri to do this in previous OS. Is this the new way that CarPlay is going to work?

CarPlay text messages only popping up with CarPlay up iOS 18.1.1 (iPhone 16 Pro Max) 2021 Jeep Gladiator with CarPlay My old iPhone 13 Pro Max would have text message notification popups when I had the Media/SXM screen up. Now with the new phone, the notifications only pop up when I have the CarPlay screen up. I have tried Announce Notifications with Siri, CarPlay (both on the phone and in the vehicle), I’ve tried turning it on in Uconnect and Bluetooth. Nothing is fixing this issue. Ideas?

CarPlay text notifications not showing up i just purchased a new car and now CarPlay runs wirelessly meaning it’s running all the time in the background, however it is not notifying me of my incoming text messages. No banner, No ding, nothing unless I am actively on the iPhone phone screen, which is impossible to do all the time. This was not the case in my 2020 model car with wired CarPlay. I can get Siri to announce my notifications and she will read my messages as they come in but there’s no option to reply so if my husband texts me what time are we meeting, there’s no option to answer him without taking my eyes off the road and opening up my phone. How can I fix this? I’ve notified Apple and they tell me they’re aware of it but today’s iOS 18.3 update did not fix this issue.
