Maximum capacity of iPhone 14 battery going down 1% every Sunday

Maximum capacity of iPhone 14 battery going down 1% every Sunday

My iPhone 14 running iOS 17.4.1 which is about 18 months old seems to be losing 1% battery maximum capacity every week on a Sunday.

Is this to be expected or is it unusual? I’m using my iPhone normally. Only until a few months ago did it go down from 97%.

Do we think it will level out? I’ve not got any issues though with the phone, I just noticed in the settings. Cheers.

If your phone has only dropped 3% in 18 months, your are way ahead of the curve, your battery is doing great!

Batteries degrade over time with usage due to chemical aging, that's just how they work.

You can expect about a 1% drop per month with average use on an iPhone. This is an approximation, that is why it may be plus or minus a few percent on a month to month basis.

Apple recommends replacing it when it reaches 80%. To check your battery health, go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health.
